My Journey. My Why. The Birth of F.U.E.L.

My name is Markeitia “Marty” Jackson, MBA, and F.U.E.L. Together was born from lived experience—not theory.

I didn’t grow up learning about wealth, investing, or financial freedom. Like many families, money conversations were rooted in survival, not strategy. You learn how to stretch, hustle, sacrifice, and “figure it out,” but no one teaches you how to build, protect, or pass down wealth.

And yet, we’re expected to somehow get it right.

I followed the path that was supposed to be “safe.”
Education. Corporate America. Stability.

But what I learned along the way is this:

A paycheck doesn’t equal freedom, and income without understanding keeps families stuck in cycles.

The Wake-Up Call

Working in corporate finance gave me access to information many families never see—how money actually moves, how systems are built, and how behavior impacts long-term outcomes. At the same time, I watched families around me (and parts of my own life) struggle with the same patterns:

Living paycheck to paycheck despite working hard
Fear around investing or taking financial risks
Passing down money stress instead of money strategy
Feeling behind, ashamed, or overwhelmed when it came to finances

What stood out the most wasn’t a lack of intelligence—it was a lack of structure, exposure, and healing.

That’s when it became clear:

Financial literacy without mindset work isn’t enough.
